My grades now spell BEADE/BADEE. Made more sense without the extra E. I really feel that I've underperformed this time round. I guess what my parents said were right, I shouldn't be complacent about studies, even though I'm from IP. This MYEs definitely wasn't my best effort. I lacked practice and started mugging way too late into June, which caused me to complete all of my papers at a snail's pace and making some of the dumbest mistakes I've ever seen. But we all know this isn't just a one time effort, and my attitudes during term time have also been dismal. Tutorials undone, zoning off during lesson time and talking cock during lectures. I guess of all these do really spell out in our grades. Well, all of these are over and definitely can't be altered anymore. Right now, I've been doing tutorials, some in advance. Even if it's stuff like Econs/GP, I think it's still worthwhile to write down some points even if it might be wrong. That's how we all learn, don't we? I've also been working my mind during lessons and lectures to make the most out of the limited time we have. In all, I really hope all of these culminates to desirable Promos results.

Went to school today for speech day. To be honest, I felt that the reception duty was a waste of time. What really struck me was the awards-giving ceremony. As I saw familiar faces and friends going up on stage, sometimes I wonder: could that be me up on stage receiving that award instead? I'm pretty sure everyone feels the same way at some point too. But, for all the spectators, are we putting in enough effort and energy into what we believe that we can achieve? Are we all just satisfied to stagnate at our current states and not to constantly improve ourselves? Do we always find excuses to cover-up for our lack of drive and motivation? I think it's time for all of us, including me, to really reflect about what we want to attain in life, how we go about achieving that goal.

Some guy wrote a book crticising the death penalty in Singapore. He got arrested and is probably gonna be charged for slander of the court. This is supression of free speech to the max. Reminds me of the quote: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. " This is where Singapore flops.

Inception was bloody good, even though it wasn't as much of a mindf@ck like shutter island but it still required a substantial amount of thinking. Now I'm so gonna try to have lucid dreams at night :D

Argh fuck MYEs is now a major letdown, with maths being the sole consolation. I shall now make a promise: Work hard for promos, doing every single tutorial that I'm supposed to do, and remind myself I have 2 months to accomplish my target.

And now the whole world's talking about how the Germans will plough through the World Cup even though nobody gave it the attention they deserved at the beginning. Spain will be a tough fight, especially since they lost to them at Euro 2008 finals. Even so, if in the situation where Germany loses, they won't let the Spaniards have an easy time at it. The Germans will play as a team.
